Unlike traditional on-site construction, our homes are produced in our Foundry and our floor plans share common features and materials which allow us to significantly reduce waste and re-use excess materials.

90% of building and material failures happen due to moisture build up. But with the quality of our materials, combined with our building practices that focus on maintaining the integrity of an air-tight building envelope, we can radically minimize air leakage and moisture build-up. This enables our homes to have a significantly longer lifespan and ultimately require less maintenance.

In addition to our material waste reduction efforts, we are constantly looking for and incorporating building materials and partners that are committed to sustainable material sourcing.

The remarkable energy efficiency of our homes is true measure of our quality. By making our homes as air-tight and well-insulated as possible, they require significantly less energy to operate, and when outfitted with solar capability, they can be a net positive energy source.

We’re big believers in solar power. So each Dvele home is solar-ready for the easy addition of a solar array later, or, you can add our solar package including solar panels and battery storage to your new home and enjoy the benefits on day one.

For each Dvele home we finish, we plant 10k trees. So our homes are not only a positive energy source, but they represent positive oxygen and ecosystem contributions as well.

By utilizing the latest, high efficiency, all-electric hot water heaters, our homes are 3X more efficient at generating hot water for the home.

Electric combustion-free homes have zero risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or accidents stemming from gas leakage. Using electricity to cook is not only better for your indoor air quality, it also decreases our use of fossil fuels and the practice that extracts them.

The Passive House Certification is the most stringent efficiency certification in the world and we voluntarily submit our homes to be tested by a third-party to ensure that we meet or exceed these standards not because we have to, but because it’s the environmentally responsible thing to do.

Each room employs a ventilation strategy that pushes/supplies fresh, filtered air in down low, while drawing stale, used air out from above for a continuous fresh-air experience.

Our fresh air delivery system provides fresh, filtered air throughout the entire house. The filtration system helps make the air cleaner inside than outside by capturing 90%+ of particles from 1-10 microns, while simultaneously exhausting air out of areas of the home that produce moisture and odors.

Each Dvele home can include a state-of-the-art, in-line water filtration system at the water’s source point into the home, so each faucet provides clean, pure water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. Our multi-purpose filtration system reduces harmful contaminants in city water or well water such as heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, VOCs, industrial solvents, pharmaceutical chemicals, and 97% of chlorine. This system also softens water without the need for salt and kills 99.99% of viruses and bacteria with UV filtration.

Even though our homes are designed to specifically decrease the likelihood of moisture buildup through condensation associated with a porous building envelope, we offer in-wall detectors to alert the homeowner as soon as possible in order to avoid mold growth which compromises air quality and the integrity of the homes structural components.

Just how well do our homes perform? Thanks to our standard digital interface, each home’s core performances like energy use monitors, air quality read-outs, etc. can be viewed in real time. It will also alert the homeowner if it detects a problem.

While the disclosure requirements for the production of building materials are not as stringent, or as widely adhered to, as we would like, we proactively test and source both materials and partners that voluntarily disclose the chemicals, processes, and toxicity testing results of their products so we can ensure the long-term integrity of our homes.

“Time for bed.” One capability of our smart home integration can be the control of your timing and ambient preferences that best promote your natural sleep cycle. With a simple voice command in the evening, your home can secure itself, slowly dim the lights, change the temperature, increase airflow, and more. We believe this holistic approach to a better night’s sleep can have a meaningful impact on your daily life and mental health.

All of our homes include large, double-or-triple-paned glass walls in the main living area with lift-and-slide doors. And our standard windows are European-style tilt-and-turn windows with steel reinforcing that allow for larger-sized operable windows, to give occupants an abundance of natural light and the best possible connection to the environment outside.

Producing our homes indoors avoids weather delays associated with rain, snow, or excessive heat. This is a big advantage if the seasonal build window is short like it is in mountainous regions. Once complete, each home module is sealed in a weather-proof wrap, shipped to their destination, and craned into place in less than 24 hours.

One of the main reasons our homes take only 4-6 months to complete is the concurrent development of the home and its foundation. So when the home is finished, the foundation is ready to receive it. With traditional construction, the foundation must be completed before the home’s construction can begin.

The availability and scheduling of highly qualified subcontractors can be the source of significant time delays for traditional construction, especially in regions that have been impacted by disasters such as wildfire. But at Dvele, our homes are produced by full-time employees in every area of the trade.

While traditional construction is reliant on the continuous visitation and scheduling of local building inspectors to make sure the home is being built to plan and code, most of our home inspections take place at our Foundry, where inspectors visit regularly which moves things along faster.

Almost every aspect of designing, engineering, producing, installing, and finishing your new home is performed by full-time employees at Dvele and is managed through a dedicated and responsive project manager. This unique and collaborative process results in significant time savings, lower stress, and a high-quality home.

During the design agreement phase at Dvele, every detail of your home is decided upon, right down to the faucets, flooring, and appliances. And since we’re not exposed to the same cost overrun areas of traditional construction, we’re able to adhere to the agreed-upon budget with refreshing reliability.

All of our custom cabinetry is made with low VOC plywood glue, slow close dovetail drawers, slow close adjustable door hinges, and low emitting finishes.

All of our interior doors are solid core doors with renewable core materials for a more substantial feel and to dampen noise.

We include high-quality, quartz countertops because they are low-emitting and non-porous for better hygiene.

 In order to enhance the modern design aesthetic for our bathrooms, we include wall hung, European-style toilets with in-wall flushing mechanisms for a modern look, easier cleaning and better hygiene.

All tile grout is epoxy-based to be stain proof, mildew resistant, and never need sealing.

Custom millwork wardrobes in the master bedroom enhance our modern look with European styling and efficient storage.

Built-in features are an efficient, modern use of space, and we can thoughtfully include them for the central entertainment center in the Family Room, entry closets, foyer, garage entrance/laundry room, as well as desks in the guest bedrooms.

All of our homes are structurally engineered to not only survive an earthquake without collapsing, as building codes require, but to be fully occupiable afterward. This includes 2x6 walls, 1 1/4" subfloor, structurally engineered truss floor, ceiling, and roof structure.

Electrical outlets are something we inadvertently see every day, which is why we use screwless faceplates with USB outlets in convenient areas to complement our modern, efficient aesthetic.
